For the female fitness fans on my flist
May 22nd, 2007 by Babs

I had to take a break from “The Witch Book”, so instead I spent last night reading “Fit + Female” by Geralyn B. Coopersmith. Good stuff. A lot of it I already knew from being a Covert Bailey groupie, but the information about the different body types, and the realistic goals and routines for each of them is quite interesting.

According to the book I’m an Endo-Pear, which means I’m bottom heavy, tend to gain weight easily, have to be careful about strength training because I can bulk up easily, and no matter how lean I get I will always be curvy. Apparently, since the Endo-Pear isn’t the currently preferred body type, I also have very few role models to look up to. *sobs* I have no one to validate my curves! Whatever shall I do?!

Maybe I’ll dial 1-800-MIXALOT.

Personally, that can be a really sexy body type, in my opinion. Of course, everone wants a perfect hourglass figure, but when I look at girls I think are cute/hot, they are usually smaller on top and have curvy hips.

It’s better than being the opposite, which is what I am. I look like the Fruit of the Loom apple. šŸ™

Honestly, I think it’s the ecto-apples (basically straight or slightly rounded from chest to hips), that is the preferred body type. That would explain why jeans always fit me nicely in the tushy, but have to be cinched in at the waist. And don’t get me started on Old Navy’s boy cut jeans!

I just want to be lean and healthy. I love my curves!

LOL, but I’m plump, so every pair of jeans that fits me in the waist looks like clown pants because the butt and thights are so big! LOL. Thank the gods for jeans with lycra.

just goes to show that no one is happy with what they’ve got, eh? I want to be lean and healthy, too. to me, that’s the best, no matter what shape one is.

This is what we need to teach the younger females. It doesn’t matter what your overall size or shape is. What’s important is how lean you are, because they are finding more and more links between a variety of diseases and how much body fat you have.
