I’ve Been a Bad, Bad, Girl.
Jan 16th, 2009 by Babs

<div class=\"pavatar\">I've Been a Bad, Bad, Girl.</div>

For starters, I forgot to post this week’s weigh in. Given that I gained 2 pounds this may not be a bad thing. *sheepish grin* I did get a couple hours of cardio in this week, though, so all is not lost.

I managed to go from 7am yesterday to 5pm today without a cigarette, thanks to aromatherapy and nicotine gum. I caved after that. The stress of dealing with Glenn and the boys has been too much. On the semi-positive side the few cigs I did smoke today tasted NASTY, so I will be making another attempt to quit ASAP. I’m amazed I managed to last as long as I did. Last night I was so tense! For the last couple of nights Glenn has been so drunk that he snores. LOUDLY. So fucking loud that I can have my Sansa up high enough to hurt my ears and I can still hear him! And any attempt to roll him over results in failure. He is so lucky I didn’t take advantage of his pillow laying beside him last night ’cause, trust me, I probably could’ve pulled off the “temporary insanity thing”.

In other news the preteen, who refuses to brush his teeth, lost two of them in the course of a week. Because the Town refuses to pay for dental insurance we have no way of telling if they were baby teeth coming out late. I’m thinking “no”. The loss of one of them isn’t too bad, however, as it was one of the same two teeth I had to have pulled to make way for my “fangs” which the preteen has inherited. One is growning in the spot where one tooth fell out (hell, it might have even pushed it out), the other is coming in above and behind the tooth it should be in front of. *headdesk*

Wednesday night was the first practice of Bay State Sound, the corps that has risen out of the ashes of the Light Brigade. Most folks were expecting some reunion time after two months vacation but Bill, the owner/manager/etc. insisted both the horn and drum lines commence to learn the new program. The colorguard went downstairs and discussed what we would do if BSS doesn’t show some true signs of life within the next few months. It was decided that if the corps. failed we’d go, as a group, to the Holy Defenders. Well, a group minus one. The Holy Defenders are in Rockland, home of the secret lover Glenn insists I have, so I can’t go. This means if Bay State Sound doesn’t take off I have to choose between either being a traitor by joining the Boston Crusaders, or not being in a colorguard at all. šŸ™

Inbetween all of this I’ve been busy crocheting, Simming and watching DVDs. I’ve managed to create a handful of scarves that I hope to unload on Etsy. I’m so loving the good and bad witches in “Apartment Life” but fear that I will not “complete” the game within my lifetime, even with all the dumbasses setting fire to themselves. I can’t get enough of the director/cast commentary for “The Lords of Dogtown” so I checked out Best Buy to see if they had a copy, cheap. They had a copy labeled $9.99, which wasn’t bad. Even better was when it rang up for $5.99!

*pulls a snickerdoodle from my secret stash* Shh! These things are delicious! I refuse to share them with the boys.

That was easy

Aside from figuring out how to remove the date from the posts and changing the background color of the blog (which I think may be an image), Maxwell’s writing blog is up and running. Until I’m certain the other themes we’re looking at will work with the upgrade, we’re sticking with a slightly modified Kubrick layout. As a test I copied and pasted Chapter 1 of Links. I discovered that I can change privacy settings per post, and can even password protect them (this will be great for those original stories Max wishes to share just with friends). I’m not going to bother using WordPress’ import option as there are only a few things to move over currently. I also already know that I’m going to have to fight with changes to way the posts look anyway so, yeah.

In other news, TS2 University and Bon Voyage arrived yesterday. Note to self: to avoid drama from boys, get mail before they come home. I’ve never heard so much bitching and whining over Mom treating herself. University has been installed and one teen has already been shipped off. What happens if the parents don’t have any money? šŸ™ I guess I’ll figure that out once I get around to playing Sims State. Tomorrow Bon Voyage will get installed. Dear Gods! How does one keep track and rotate through all the places?!

There’s one good thing about missing the Con:

Well, three things, technically. *holds up TS2 Free Time* I still have to wait for University and Bon Voyage to arrive from Amazon. Once I have those all I need are the remaining fashion packs (if I decide to get them, that is).

BTW, I’ve noticed that ever since I installed Night Life my Sims don’t seem to want to go to work/school anymore. It used to be they’d miss their ride, or the bus, if they were in the middle of something. I’m now frequently seeing them head toward their vehicles only to change their minds and say “fuck it!”.

Something’s Funky at the Fogies
Mar 12th, 2008 by Babs

Was playing the Sims 2 this morning. One of the Bloom kids and his mate took over the Oldies’ home. Actually Trey Bloom had an affair with Mrs. Oldie (which probably gave her husband a heart attack). When she died he took over the lot and brought in his lover, Jason.

I haven’t played the lot since Jason moved in but let me tell ya, there’s some funky shit going on. The ever so talented Jason can now open the refrigerator door from the livingroom, and pull foodstuffs and simoleons out of the sofa. The equally talented Trey is now a contortionist, prefering to place plates on tables with his back turned to them. Then there’s the invisible transporter that zips them from the chair in the livingroom to the kitchen. Trey also uses it to transport into bed after he levitates wherever he’s at. Of course the funniest part is that they’ve both developed a fear of the microwave, freaking out every time they see it. šŸ™‚

Obviously there’s a glitch. Fortunately it does not appear to affect any of the other lots (not as of yet). I briefly panicked after installing Night Life and Gieke zipped once through his upstairs bedroom (in a new home), but it hasn’t happened since I added a bed.

Maybe if I practice a little Feng Shui I might remedy the problem?

This Woman’s Work
Sep 18th, 2007 by Babs

I got a butt load of house cleaning done today. Maintainence had to fix our toilet. I had to scrub the floor behind the toilet and it went from there. Boy am I tired! Did I mention I have a nasty cold? Bleh!

I took a break to play with the Sims. The G-Boys were lonely so I decided to make them a friend. His picture is my new icon. Since my own boys insist I’m the only one who thinks my Sims look anything like the people they are supposed to look like, he will be known as “Mystery Man” until someone else can identify him. šŸ™‚ I’m planning on making more friends; to be eventually let loose in my made from scratch world. BTW, does anyone know how to custom color Sim hair blue?

Amber is sitting at the edge of the bed, staring at me. Can you guess it’s time for her dinner? I expect to be tripping over Ribbon by the time I reach the kitchen. As much as the two dislike each other, they still love to join forces and gang up on the meowmy.
