I’m feeling rather like a failure as of late. As much as I tried to, I wasn’t able to get any more writing done. Last week, Glenn wouldn’t give me a moment’s peace, this week the bursitis in my back had a good-sized flare-up making it difficult for me to sit, or lay on my side, for any length of time. I may be joining everyone else for NaNo after all, though I don’t think I’ll acomplish much more then. *shrugs*

To make me feel even more special I came to the realization that with our Plymouth show in just four weeks, I still can’t do any of the songs without screwing up. Even yesterday morning, after going over the entire show several times the previous night with the rest of the colorguard, I couldn’t rember all of it. What’s really scary is I spent half an hour trying to remember how to do a move I’ve been doing for YEARS, and therefore should be second nature. *taps head* It can’t all be “getting old”.

Jarret got his costume for Halloween this year. I don’t know the exact name of the beastie, but he’s some evil ceremonial magic type dude. I was a bit disappointed to see the evil magic pendant was actually a pentacle. šŸ˜› I told him after Halloween he can be a Wiccan Homey with major blingage. šŸ™‚ Since we have colorguard practice on Halloween I’m trying to decide if I’m going to dress up, myself.

I downloaded a copy of Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds from Rhapsody. I used to have the album, but then everything went digital and I never got around to replacing it with a CD. Having it on my Sansa for the next week or so should keep me happy. Ooooooooo-laaaahhhh!

I was just about to check on you to see how OctoBabWriMo was working out for you–sorry it isn’t.

I’m a bit nervous about next month, myself. I have my major 15 page Autobiographical paper for Sociology due in the early part of December, and my prof says the best time to write it is “sometime in November.” Dammit.

According to “No Plot. No Problem.” A slow writer (hello!) can write about 800 words an hour. If I recall correctly 50,000 words in a 30 day month breaks down to 1666 words a day. I figure if I can write for two hours a day, weekdays, and however long it takes me to meet a weekly quota each weekend, I might have a chance of accomplishing NaNO AND getting through colorguard practice, friendship bracelet making (for a craft fair), and the holidays. Of course this is all theory. *laughs*

Good luck juggling your paper and NaNo. You’ll have me and the cats cheering you on!
