Glenn came home from work today toting a large wire cage. It was one of the ones the Animal Control Officer uses to hold animals, only this one was fitted to accomodate a small critter. The particular critter in this cage was a female hamster who had been rescued from an apartment complex. Apparently her owner either let her loose, or never cared to look for her when she got loose. She’s a beautiful cinnamon colored Teddy Bear. I’ve never seen a hamster that color before. Jarret has named her Pashmina.

Tomorrow I have to pick up some real hamster food for her. It looks like the AC Officer had been feeding her bird food, which isn’t good for ever growing teeth. I will also have to put aside cash for a new cage, as we eventually have to return the one she’s in currently. The boys want a high tech Habitrail, but I’m not too keen on spending a ton of money on an animal whose age we don’t know.

Anyway, the boys are in love with her. Jarret has spent a good part of the day sitting in front of Pashmina’s cage. A boy and his ham-ham. How sweet!
