I nearly had a heart attack today when I went to Stop & Shop to pick up a jar of Fleischman’s Yeast. $7.99! I was like, I don’t remember paying that much before. And I was right. I left S&S and headed over to Market Basket, were it’s $4.99 a jar. Unbelievable! I know Stop & Shop is one of the more expensive chains in the state, but a $3 difference in price? What’s really sickening is that Glenn drove our neighbor over to Costco, where they found a two pound brick of yeast for $8.99. I bet you can figure out where I’m buying my yeast (or at least where I’m not buying my yeast) from now on.
