A Post to Test the Updated Theme

<div class=\"pavatar\">A Post to Test the Updated Theme</div>

David updated Kaleidoscope so that it’s compatible with WP 2.7. I’ve upgraded the theme and now I want to test to see if (and how) the threaded comments feature works. Feel free to comment to your heart’s content.

Score!

Last night I found a program called “Webserver on a Stick.” It’s not quite as dummyproof as WAMP, in fact if I hadn’t already worked with WAMP I wouldn’t have known how important it was to include myphpadmin into the package. Either WSoaS is faster than WAMP or they doctored WP not to timeout during install. Either way, I now have WordPress on my thumb drive. And it, along with the formatting and software that came with the thumb drive, only took up 141MB of space, leaving me plenty of space for my entries. Woot!

WordPress and thumb drives
Nov 9th, 2008 by Babs

Okay.

I recently figured out how to install and run WordPress on my own computer. My ultimate goal is to install and run it on a thumb drive but my current 2-1/2 year old Sandisk 2GB Cruzer is too slow. Every time I try to install WP instead of getting the “Success!” page I get just a page with the WP logo on it. WordPress insists that an installation has occurred but it won’t let me in as there is no user registered. šŸ™ I’ve heard that the thumb drives available now are faster but I’m unsure as to whether they are fast enough to keep WP from timing out. I could get an enclosure for one of the two remaining hard drives I salvaged from my old computers and use that, but a thumb drive would be so much easier to keep with me.

*sigh*
