WordPress and thumb drives
November 9th, 2008 by Babs

Okay.

I recently figured out how to install and run WordPress on my own computer. My ultimate goal is to install and run it on a thumb drive but my current 2-1/2 year old Sandisk 2GB Cruzer is too slow. Every time I try to install WP instead of getting the “Success!” page I get just a page with the WP logo on it. WordPress insists that an installation has occurred but it won’t let me in as there is no user registered. :( I’ve heard that the thumb drives available now are faster but I’m unsure as to whether they are fast enough to keep WP from timing out. I could get an enclosure for one of the two remaining hard drives I salvaged from my old computers and use that, but a thumb drive would be so much easier to keep with me.

*sigh*
