I’m writing this while waiting for my Sansa to finish charging. I’m almost halfway through the Harry Potter CDs. Hopefully this charge will be enough to get through the second half. šŸ™‚

The boys are currently in my room. Jarret is deliberately sneezing (raspberries included) all over his brother, and jumping on my bed. Ribbon is looking for a place to hide. Alas Amber already has the primo spot.

I finished moving my writing journal to Blogger, not that there was much to move. I did have to spend time working with the format, however. My LJ posts didn’t automaticaly format to Blogger’s settings, so I had to remove all formatting and manually go in and add the italics and bold. I created links to to both it and my cookbook, on IJ. While doing so I discovered IJ has given me more link slots to work with. Had I had them when I first started moving they would’ve been great, but now that the blogs that would’ve used them are already at home on Blogger, I don’t really need them. Later, I might update my links on LJ, as well as on GJ.

While working on the formatting various members of the Harem were whispering suggestions for stories. James wants me to continue “Indigo”, probably because it’s the one and only story where he doesn’t appear as a doofus. The G-Boys want me to get on the ball and work on the rewrite for “Links”. None of them care about my super hero story.

*sniffs* Ah, the smell of whole wheat bread baking. Yum! Jarret is already boycotting this loaf. He hates whole wheat! He’s going to be in for a shock when school starts back up. *evil grin*

Well, the Sansa is charged. Back to Harry and Co.

Harry Potter and the Cookbook
Aug 18th, 2007 by Babs

I’m busy ripping Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix so that I can listen to it on my Sansa.Yeah, I’m still going to “read” it even though the end was ruined for me.

While I’m ripping, I’m adding more recipes to my recipe blog. It’s still available for viewing by invitation. Though now that it’s on Blogger, I need email addresses to approve folks for viewage. I still have to move the recipes I had on Crunchy Granola ove, but I’ve got 11 newish recipes in the cookbook thus far.

In other news, GJ members are having a cow because they have to cut back on their icons in order to accomodate the influx of new members. Sheesh! I’ve been here for almost three years and it’s been rather dead. It takes the axing of icons for everyone to come out of the woodwork? *rolls eyes*

I nearly had a heart attack when IJ was turning up “502” errors. I wasn’t quite sure if it was down due to the continued addition of members or if something worse happened. Turns out it was because of the former. “Squeaky” was upgrading the site for improved performance. Wow! When was the last time LJ did that?

I’ve been friended on LJ by a Jesus Freak. *waves* We’ll see how that goes. Considering we’re all a bunch of frickin’ paedophiles… *snuggles up to Quatre*

Google Calendar
Aug 16th, 2007 by Babs

I don’t recall if I mentioned this before, but after searching for a calendar to incorporate my Remember the Milk to-do list into, I found Google Calendar. It’s a Beta version, so it goes without saying there are the occasional glitches. Like when all of my exercise entries disappeared for a day!

Anyway, I’ve got my personal schedule, my exercise schedule, and schedules for the boys all in one calendar. Each one has it’s own color. It is so much easier than trying to write down individual pages, and let’s not forget about the paper saved! The best part is that I had my calendar under my business email but all I had to do was grant permission for my personal account to view and alter everything, so now I no longer have to keep switching between accounts several times a day!

In other news, I was bored and started reading some of the newer comments to posts made at lj_biz. They (LJ) just keep putting their foots in their mouths, don’t they? Reading more of this nonsense reminded me to pull my four comms. Not that they were doing anything anyway, but it makes me feel better. I’ve still got two other journals to move. I really should do my writing journal tonight, before the muses convince me that I need to post something.

BTW, does anyone know why GJ and IJ both use LJ tags? I tried using an lj cut in my last post, changing it accordingly for GJ and IJ because that was the logical thing to do. Only it didn’t work until I changed everything back to “lj”. *is confused*

Had my followup GYN appointment today. All the tests came back negative, including the one for HPV. It appears that my bleeding was due to a combination of the polyp and inflammation of the cervix. The polyp has already been removed, and I was given antiboitics at the last appointment, so I should be good to go. I will be stocking up on acidophillus to reduce the chances of the inflammation returning.

On my way out to my appointment I ran into my neighbor. His mother, a good friend of mine, passed away last night from cancer. I’m not sure what kind she had, but I’m also not sure it really matters as by the time they caught it, it had already taken over her body. They’re having a memorial for her on Monday. šŸ™

I’m having a go at Semagic. I never bothered with it in the past as I have an internet connection that’s always on, so I can type right into LJ. But now I’m going to see if I can use it to post the same post to several journals. Sadly, Insanejournal isn’t on the default list, but I think I can add it manually.

It’s a great feeling when you can get your clothes cleaner by hand than you can in a washer. Granted the fact that I’m plunging the crap out of them may have something to do with it. šŸ™‚

Well, it’s time for me to go get some ice cream (sugar free, of course!). Hopefully the boys haven’t eaten it all!

Have been playing with the look of my LJ. With the demise of A Web Site Created by Babs I’m thinking about directing babspace.com to this journal, and wanted to pretty it up a bit. I had briefly considered upgrading to a plus account so that I could have access to more layouts, but then I remembered I really don’t use the links, I don’t think I’ll ever use the tags (though that isn’t etched in stone), and the layout I really like most doesn’t need the upgrade to use. So now it it what it is.

For those of you who have cats I highly recommend the book “Whole Health for Happy Cat: A Guide to Keeping Your Cats Naturally Healthy, Happy, and Well Fed.” You can’t miss it. Just look for the book with a cat that is clearly healthy, happpy and well fed on the cover. šŸ˜€ We’re in the early stages of converting over from crap to a raw meat diet. I gave both Ribbon and Amber half a turkey neck a couple of days ago. Neither knew what to do with it, so it’s going to take them awhile to get used to the idea of eating a more natural diet. In the meantime I’ve switched them from Friskies to Wellness. Amber is already showing an improvement. She has more energy, isn’t scratching herself to the point of bleeding, and isn’t throwing up anymore. Yay!
