I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Tuesday night I was updating my 2006 datebook with next year’s gardening information. I put the book aside before going to bed, and went looking for it last night to finish the transfer.

It’s not there!

It’s not where I’m pretty sure I left it. It’s not in any of my dresser drawers. Not on any shelves. Not in any boxes. Not behind anything. I can’t find it anywhere!!! I’m so freaking out.

I’m sure some are you are sitting there, reading this and thinking “WTF Babs? It’s only a datebook!” If I were a “normal” person I’d agree with you, but I’m the ADD stereotype: disorganized and distracted to the point where I appear lazy and stupid. That datebook not only has my appointments (and half my gardening info) but my FlyLaday schedule, without which, I’m the equivilent of revving the engine of a car stuck in neutral.

Ironically, in my search I found my 2003, 2004, and 2005 datebooks. *facepalm*

*chest swell*

I regularly make posts to witch_wares, promoting the Bishi Harem Fruitcake Co. These posts are usually the friendly, “how are ya doing?” type things because that’s the attitude of the store I try to keep. I mean the day it becomes a burden is the day I close up shop.

Anyhow earlier this month I made mention of my new guest book and how anyone who signed it would automatically receive a 10% discount of their next order. The purpose of it is to get more information about what folks want from the store, but if all they do is type “Kilroy was here” they’ll still get the discount, as long as they provided a valid email to send the voucher number to.

One of the people who signed my guestbook happens to be another online store owner. No biggie, there’s room for both of us, plus I feel I offer good service so I’m not worried about competition.

Today they made a post to witch_wares.

Just as perky and friendly as my posts.

Asking for input from customers about their store.

Offering a 10% discount of the next order for said input.

Yes!!!!!

I guess that’s it.

We may not be able to get the PC fixed, but damn if we didn’t figure out the connection problems with the laptop. Within a week of receiving it, it was constantly disconnecting. Since I didn’t have the problem with the PC I naturally thought it was the laptop, but at my uncle’s recommendation I picked up a new network cable. I needed one anyway, as I had snapped off the pieces that keep each end locked into place. Not only does that seem to have fixed the problem (I haven’t been knocked off in over an hour and for the last few days I’ve been lucky to stay connected long enough to surf from one page to the next), but the connection seems faster. Yay!
