Against my better judgement I took the boys to see Speed Racer at the Fresh Pond Cinema. With my luck, by next weekend it’ll be at the Capitol, where I have free passes and know enough of the staff to get free munchies. If it is, I’m docking the boys’ allowance. 🙂

Some of the editing annoyed the hell out of me, and they changed the storyline from the American series a bit, but I liked the modern-day interpretation of 50s/60s meets the uber future, as well as the weaving in of references to the original Japanese version. It was full of fun and campiness. Whoa! The colors! Do not see this movie if you’re prone to seizures! *laughs* The boys enjoyed the action scenes, and Emile Hirsch made me crush on Speed all over again. *squees* So, you will not have to listen to me rant about Hollywood trashing yet another of my childhood memories.
