A belated Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it!

It seems every Thanksgiving we have to have drama. This year was no different. Brother in law bailed on us after PROMISING he would be here. Didn’t even bother to call to tell us he wasn’t showing. Glenn had a hissy fit because Glenn has to look good and this just doesn’t cut it. He killed two hours and a quarter tank of gas driving around before he decided to come back and be an asshole to me.

All I did was ask him where he put my dreadlock conditioner, because he took it with us to Plymouth to help detangle Jarret’s hair, and he unpacked it when we returned. If he had just put it back where it belonged it wouldn’t have been an issue, but he didn’t and it wasn’t where he said he put it. So he blew up and started yelling at me to stay away from him, yet as I was searching for the conditioner he kept walking past me, shoving me out of his way.

Asshole.

We ended up being late to my aunt and uncle’s house because of this shit. Luckily, because Glenn has to look good he put on his happy face and behaved himself for the rest of the day.

My computer is fixed, with the old motherboard my uncle said he was going to give me. According to him it seems to load fine with XP, but he suggested I pop the XP disc in and “repair” it anyway because it didn’t like his keyboard. This will mean I’ll probably have to reinstall all the updates. Not looking forward to that.

Dinner was great. My aunt always does a wonderful job. We didn’t have the deep fried turkey this year because half the people my aunt and uncle invited also bailed (after the turkeys were ordered) so we ate the 20 pounder and they are saving the smaller one for later. I was bummed there wasn’t any sugar free chocolate cream pie this year, but I think the red velvet birthday cake made up for it. My psuedo-cousin’s mother fell asleep first, beating out my uncle and myself. I never fell asleep this time and am surprised I’m still awake now.

After dinner we voted for and watched Madagascar. That is one funny movie! And yes, Dreamworks is still poking fun at Disney. We also watched the accompanying Christmas short (Shitake mushroom!). When that was over we packed up the car and headed home. My aunt gave me a bottle of cranberry wine, which I tried at dinner and found to be delicious! I’m not normally a wine drinker because I don’t really like the taste of vintage grape juice, plus it usually gives me a headache. The cranberry wine, however, gave me no problems. Glenn got a full sized Mommy cake to take with him.

I’m now typing all this up for you to read. If I don’t fall asleep, I’ll get some reading done afterward. I’ll wait until tomorrow to re-install the sound, video, and ethernet cards into my PC and and boot it up. BTW, I now have two 512MB DDR PC2100 ECC DIMMS and a 1GB PC2700 DIMM for sale, cheap (Mwave requires requests for RMAs to be made within a week of receipt, so I’m stuck with them).

Prepay Cell Phones
Nov 24th, 2005 by Babs

Can anyone recommend a good company to do prepay with? Other than Virgin or Verizon, that is.

I currently have a prepay cell phone via Verizon which started at 25 cents a minute for everything, but when they upgraded the system they allowed me to change over to the (then) new plan of 35 cents the first minute, 10 cents for each additional minute. I was hoping to get the same plan for my son when I get him his own phone this year, but all Verizon seems to have now is INpulse. They are out of their fucking minds if they think I’m going to cough up 99 cents a day plus 10 cents a minute. Even if the 99 cents is only charged on the days the phone actually gets used it’s going to cost way more than my current plan. I now understand the T-Mobile “Poser Mobile” commercials. *sigh*

Fuck.

I thought I was getting over the cold Jarret gave me this weekend, but instead it seems to be getting worse. My throat is so sore, as is my nose after going through a 1000 sheet roll of toilet paper. *sigh*

The boys are home from school. Today was a half day and I had planned on keeping them both home, but when Ben learned he would have to share the TV with his brother he got dressed and went to school. OOOkay!

Spent the morning playing around with the blog that has been home to the wicca related stuff I’ve collected over the years. I renamed it, deleted and added a few categories and topics (which you can do on Tripod), and updated my book wish list.

After that I checked with Froogle to see if my latest upload processed fine. It’s the first time I’ve done it with the laptop. I’m glad I checked as I learned that half the items had errors. For some reason I lost tabs when I saved the Excel document to Notepad. Apparently it’s also adding quotation marks to the item descriptions during the transformation. Because of this I’ve now decided to enter the information directly into Notepad. I avoided doing it in the past because I have to put tabs between each piece of information. Then I realized I already use the tab key to move to the next cell in Excel. *facepalm*

Once I fixed that faux pas and uploaded it again, I worked on another listing for the store. I’ve decided to put a hold on the tarot decks until I can afford to carry a large variety. Instead I’m being foolish and ordered some datebooks. I don’t know what it is, but I’ve fallen in love with Seventh House’s Seasons of the Witch weekly planner. Maybe it’s because it’s so fricken colorful. It certainly can’t be its “Wiccaerian Calendar”. *snicker*

I’m now going to curl up and die for a couple of hours (at least in theory, with three boys in the house this may not become a reality).
