A belated Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it!
It seems every Thanksgiving we have to have drama. This year was no different. Brother in law bailed on us after PROMISING he would be here. Didn’t even bother to call to tell us he wasn’t showing. Glenn had a hissy fit because Glenn has to look good and this just doesn’t cut it. He killed two hours and a quarter tank of gas driving around before he decided to come back and be an asshole to me.
All I did was ask him where he put my dreadlock conditioner, because he took it with us to Plymouth to help detangle Jarret’s hair, and he unpacked it when we returned. If he had just put it back where it belonged it wouldn’t have been an issue, but he didn’t and it wasn’t where he said he put it. So he blew up and started yelling at me to stay away from him, yet as I was searching for the conditioner he kept walking past me, shoving me out of his way.
Asshole.
We ended up being late to my aunt and uncle’s house because of this shit. Luckily, because Glenn has to look good he put on his happy face and behaved himself for the rest of the day.
My computer is fixed, with the old motherboard my uncle said he was going to give me. According to him it seems to load fine with XP, but he suggested I pop the XP disc in and “repair” it anyway because it didn’t like his keyboard. This will mean I’ll probably have to reinstall all the updates. Not looking forward to that.
Dinner was great. My aunt always does a wonderful job. We didn’t have the deep fried turkey this year because half the people my aunt and uncle invited also bailed (after the turkeys were ordered) so we ate the 20 pounder and they are saving the smaller one for later. I was bummed there wasn’t any sugar free chocolate cream pie this year, but I think the red velvet birthday cake made up for it. My psuedo-cousin’s mother fell asleep first, beating out my uncle and myself. I never fell asleep this time and am surprised I’m still awake now.
After dinner we voted for and watched Madagascar. That is one funny movie! And yes, Dreamworks is still poking fun at Disney. We also watched the accompanying Christmas short (Shitake mushroom!). When that was over we packed up the car and headed home. My aunt gave me a bottle of cranberry wine, which I tried at dinner and found to be delicious! I’m not normally a wine drinker because I don’t really like the taste of vintage grape juice, plus it usually gives me a headache. The cranberry wine, however, gave me no problems. Glenn got a full sized Mommy cake to take with him.
I’m now typing all this up for you to read. If I don’t fall asleep, I’ll get some reading done afterward. I’ll wait until tomorrow to re-install the sound, video, and ethernet cards into my PC and and boot it up. BTW, I now have two 512MB DDR PC2100 ECC DIMMS and a 1GB PC2700 DIMM for sale, cheap (Mwave requires requests for RMAs to be made within a week of receipt, so I’m stuck with them).
