Spread the cheer
Apr 23rd, 2005 by Babs

Sometimes we all feel alone and unworthy and sad. ALL of us do at one point or another. It is then that we need to know that we are loved and supported. I think that this is something that would be a good thing to bookmark so that you do remember, in those tired and dark hours, that you do have friends, you do have a support network, and that you are worthy of that love.

I Believe in You. All of you.

This is about believing in someone. If you, who read this right now, believe that I have got what it takes to not only survive, but to thrive and succeed at what I set out to do, leave a comment here saying that you believe in me. Then, put this into your journal, and see just how deep your support structure really goes. You may be very surprised at who’s out there rooting for you.

Post this everywhere, and answer it when you see it posted.

In other news, I’ve got my store looking pretty much the way I want to it. Or, more acurately, the way I want it, within ability of what I have to work with. Either way it ain’t too bad. I just received a shipment from Knotty Boy, but I need them to confirm the prices on three items before I put them up for sale.

Thursday night I went to see DCI’s 2005 Classic Countdown, which contained footage of the top 12 favorite DCI drum corps performances since the organization was first founded in the mid seventies.

The first of my faves to be shown (from the ’70s) was the Kingmen of Anaheim, CA. As a kid, one of my fondest memories of the shows they hosted each year was the pause in the show so fans could watch the fireworks being shot off from nearby Disneyland.

Next up was the 1980s and The 27th Lancers (the Light Brigade’s predecessor). Sandy, our guard captain, had opted out of coming to the show. Good thing she did! At the end of Danny Boy, the flag line did this elaborate toss, to which my only response was “Fuck!” If Sandy had seen it, I guarantee she’d have us doing it next week! *grin*

The last treat for me was the Velvet Knights perfomance from 1992. Reason number one was because as a wee lassie I was in the colorguard of their cadet corps., the Squires. Reason number two was that I haven’t been entertained this much by a drum corps. since the Bridgemen. I wouldn’t call what they did traditional drum corps., but I didn’t really care! They made fun of a couple of “elite” drum corps. and obviously had a good time playing. I downloaded a copy of the performance, but unfortunately the video is rather crappy, otherwise I’d share.

Oh well, Glenn is screeching from the living room. I need to pick up some potting soil to compliment my compost. I hope to transplant a number of things outdorrs, if it’ll stop raining long enough.

Get a clue

Since no one has managed to figure out my translated lyrics, yet, I’ve decided to give a tiny hint:

They’ve become “Classic Rock”.

*scampers off, giggling madly*

Take the lyrics of a song, go to Google’s Language tools, translate it from English to German, German to French, then French to English. Then post in your
journal and have everyone guess.

They do not know however my heart of gold me must run to make far a height thus me become to come to the house like thing outward journey towards the line him slightly right not to mean it to be always false gerad to take with that song and you to believe me on the left completely only to take your heart to precisely believe in me your bone broad night and me its comin ‘ far that a long time me its Traeumer and gently winds road me its on my manner well me its my manner the main thing house evening this evening me its on my manner me its my manner the main thing gently house of knowing you what I much romantiquement see having with a dream in top in the light, fallin ‘ of money screen D my heart as open far the book, so that the whole world me with the veins reads together which I am on my well in manner, me on my soft principal house in the manner are, at evening this evening me on my right sentence in the manner me soft principal house are this free does not hold sometimes anything

Personally, given current events, I thought it be more amusing to translate from English to German to Italina to English, but then Google doesn’t offer Italian translation. *pouts*

The muses are begging me to create LJs for them, and all 18 are being very persistent!
