I forgot to mention this in my last post:

For the last two months or so I’ve been working out. I won’t tell you what I’ve been doing, since folks around here seem to think it’s fricken hilarious. I haven’t really lost any weight, mostly because I’ve been stressed and when I’m stressed I binge. I think some of it is due to my converting fat into muscle, though, as not only are my clothes a bit looser, but the mile I accomplished in 22 minutes 8 weeks ago can now be done in 17.

Spent the day doing some window shopping for my monitor. I think I’ve narrowed it down to these two:

This one is my first choice. Selling for $749.98, it’s the larger of the two. My only concern is the contradiction I seem to be finding over whether or not a response time of 25ms is slow. I don’t really plan on playing too many games, but I do want my DVD video to be in sync with the sound. The write up says that it’s perfect for gaming, yet a customer review says it ain’t. *shrugs*

At $459.98 I can also afford a DVD burner (and maybe even an external hard drive for backups). This screen also has a faster response of 16ms. And I can hang it on my wall…

I built my computer about two and a half years ago. Thanks to the filters I put over the intake fans all its needed is the occasional “blow job” to keep it clean. Recently, however, I noticed my CPU was running a bit hotter than it usually does. At first I thought it was related to the power pack issues I had, but even with with a new pack it’s still running near over-heat temp. So I figured I’d try removing any dust that may have accumulated between the fins of the heat sink with the aid of a can of compressed gas. Compressed air is a wonderful thing. It quickly removed the dust from EVERYPLACE inside my computer. I still have a dust bunny or two on the heat sink, but I managed to remove enough to lower the CPU’s temperature by up to 20 degrees (farenheight). I also learned that compressed gas can be a bitch. I know it’s a skin irritant, but I figured I’d actually have to spray it on me for it to irritate. Fuck no! Just the vapor in the (well ventilated) room was enough to turn my face lobster red for several hours.

In other news, I took the boys ice skating last night. It was the Stratton Skate Party, and at $1 per person hell if I was going to let the boys miss it. It was originally $3 a pop, but for some reason they lowered the price. I kind of wish they hadn’t, though. It was a mob scene at the rink! Jarret can skate very well considering he’s never had any training. Ben was… well Ben was being a teenager. *sigh* Me, I was clinging to the wall for dear life. What do you want? This SoCal chicky never even set foot on a skating rink until I was 12, and even then I only skated until I graduated highschool.

I have come to the conclusion that several members of WiccaVent would eat their young if given the chance. Long story short (or as short as possible), the mod recently pointed out that my siggy was a bit long for the list. Fine, no problem. However, I felt the way it was pointed out to me to be rather humorous, and before I started posting with a condensed siggy, I decided to return the favor, in kind. It wasn’t intended to be malicious, but since no one got the joke several members decided to gang up on me. Again no problem, I kind of expected it. What I didn’t expect were those who searched the archives and used all my previous posts to try and rip me a new one, claiming that my signature had been such an inconvenience to them all this time. Hello? If you had such a problem with it why didn’t you say something sooner? I’ve been on the the list for several months now, and I would’ve glady shortened it if I knew it was such an issue. Why wait until now to give me shit? *rolls eyes* The delete button is a wonderful thing!
