I really wish I had been able to figure the video on my camera.
Wednesday Jarret went back to school after two days off because (thanks to his psychiatrist) he was out of meds and the school won’t have him without it. Wednesday was also the day of the school holiday concert. In addition to playing an African song on their recorders, they sang one of my favorite songs: Tom Paxton’s “The Marvelous Toy”.
My favorite part, as always, was “The Twelve Days of Christmas”. Nobody does it like the students of Stratton! Each grade does a part, along with the staff, and the audience. The female staff do the Ladies Dancing and the men are the Lords a Leaping. But the stars are the kids, with each grade trying to steal the limelight by singing as loud as they can (except for the poor kindergarteners, who don’t yet know about the tradition). I wish I had been able to record it!
In other news, I received my application from the Housing Corporation (not to be confused with the Housing Authority). Shortly after I applied for emergancy housing through the HA I received a letter from the Housing Corp. asking for donations for their program to help those about to lose their homes. I decided to take a shot and emailed them to find out information about the program. The person I “spoke” to said I have a good chance of getting one of their grants, and the application process appears to fairly painless. *crosses fingers*
If all else fails… *pulls out disk of photos and list of repairs that have to be done in the apartment*
